Raffle quilts for Charity

Every two years, the Charlottesville Area Quilt Guild completes a beautiful quilt which is raffled off at our quilt show. The proceeds from these quilts are used to fund our show and a substantial portion is donated to the Charlottesville Free Clinic.

Raffle Quilt 2009 The raffle quilt for our upcoming show is entitled Asian Fantasy. It was designed by Alice and Jerry Hasting, and each block was completed by a member of our guild. Hand-quilting enhances the white background and the border is machine-quilted with a beautiful feather motif. Previous years' raffle quilts Raffle Quilt 2007 Springtime Baskets from Jefferson's Country Garden, was designed by member Janet Saulsbury. Machine pieced and machine quilted, this beautiful quilt was enhanced with hand-applique and hand-quilting by the numerous talented quilters in our guild. Raffle Quilt 2001 Julie Farrell was the guiding force behind our 2001 raffle quilt, "Virginia Reel in Blue and White." The scrappy blocks were donated by members of the guild. Back to top Home
