FALLFEST 2009

Join us on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009 for FallFest at the Aldersgate Methodist Church from 10:00AM to 3:00PM.
The Aldersgate Methodist Church is located on East Rio Road (behind Sears).

The AGENDA for FallFest is as follows:

10 AM:    Social time with coffee

10:30 AM-Noon:   Trunk show by member Dede Austin and challenge presentations by four of our chapters.

Noon-1 PM:   Lunch. Bring your own or you can order from Jimmy John's sub shop. Your Jimmy John order must be placed in advance. Details for that will be emailed to members when the date approaches. Coffee and water will be provided.

1 PM-3 PM:   Raffle block drawing, show'n'tell, and door prizes!

CHECKLIST OF THINGS TO BRING:     your nametag, raffle block(s), lunch or cash to pay for your Jimmy John order, new projects for show and tell, and your 2010 membership form and dues.

RAFFLE BLOCK:     See the September newsletter for directions or click here for downloadable instructions. Be patient, as the download will take a few moments. Note that the center fabric (black batik) must be obtained from your chapter representative.

OUR GUILD MEETINGS

The Charlottesville Area Quilters Guild holds two annual meetings. SpringFest is held the first Saturday in May and FallFest is the first Saturday in November. Both meetings are open to the public, and we encourage anyone interested in quilting to come.

We generally have a speaker or some workshops, eat lunch together, and share our recently completed quilts and works in progress. It's a great way to see what's going on in quilting in Charlottesville area, as well as a way for members to keep in touch with people who attend other chapter meetings.

We often have door prizes and a drawing for blocks made according to a theme chosen in advance. You get one chance to win all the blocks for each block you submit. Check with a chapter representative to learn what the block design is for our next meeting!

Our next guild meeting will be the end of October. In the meantime, come to our chapter meetings and join in the fun of quilting in Charlottesville.
